Occupational Therapy
Helping patients regain their independence through occupational therapy
What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational therapy is a type of help that can give patients more freedom to do things on their own at home. The things you do every day can get harder as you get older or if you get hurt or sick. Occupational therapy can also help people adjust to changes that will help them fit in with their peers.
Having an in-home occupational therapist will mean you can benefit from occupational therapy home health assessments because this lets your therapist make a plan that will help you do daily tasks better. Your therapist will also make suggestions for equipment and training and show your family members how to help you.
How Our Occupational Therapy Team Works
Our California-licensed OTs work with each patient, the patient’s family, and the patient’s main doctor to come up with and follow a plan of care. We regularly look at the plan to see how the patient is doing and make changes as needed.
What are the Goals of Occupational Therapy?
The goals of in-home occupational therapy for each patient may be different, but they usually all have to do with improving the patient’s quality of life and making sure they can live safely and on their own. Occupational therapy gives family members peace of mind that a loved one won’t hurt themselves when they can’t be there to help.

In-Home Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists use a wide range of techniques and training methods to help their patients stay as independent as possible for as long as possible. Some of these methods are exercise, training, education, rehabilitation, and more.
Occupational therapists can help people who are having trouble getting around their homes, getting dressed, taking a bath, or going to the bathroom. Occupational therapists also help teach patients how to do everyday tasks safely based on their abilities.
